Home Time for Truck Drivers

Home Time for Truck Drivers
EPES Transport System, Inc. understands that for our truck drivers, life is all about the balance between life on and off the road. Finding that balance can certainly be a challenge, but keeping a few simple ideas in mind can help lighten the load. Our company provides drivers with home time each week, and we want to help you make the most of it! Home Time
  • The Honey Do list – We all have them. Whether you have a significant other or not, there are always those few chores that you dread but can’t relax until they are done. Get through the important stuff quickly and without complaint so you can enjoy your home time and not be working during the majority of it.
  • Quality over Quantity – Since you and your loved ones won’t have as much free time together, it is important to make the most of your days off. With household chores out of the way, it’s important to relax and enjoy your family. Hang out with your significant other, take your kids for ice cream or go watch your favorite team play. Activities such as these make for lasting memories. Your family will love hearing stories of the places you’ve seen as a truck driver. These are the times that you can reflect on when you’re weary of life on the road.
  • Communicate! – This way there are no surprises between you and your significant other. Make sure you are both as honest and open as you can be so your time at home is enjoyable and you won’t be stressed when it’s time to hit the road again.

On the Road

  • Park at your delivery – Find out if there is parking allowed at or near your delivery. If so, instead of parking overnight at a truck stop, park at your delivery destination. You may be able to drop your load off early, which would allow you to get home sooner.
  • Communicate! – This time with your fleet managers and fellow OTR drivers. If everyone is on the same page, you will maximize your miles and get the most out of your time both on and off the road.
EPES Transport is committed to staying involved with our truck drivers to ensure their success. Happy truckers are the best truckers. That’s why we will ensure you get the miles needed to earn a steady income, as well as provide you with home time every week so you can be with your families.
